Our Services

  • Basic fee for diagnosing the issues with the device(s). Only applicable if you decline the repair. If you proceed with the repair, we will waive the diagnostics, and the cost of the repair is all that will apply.

  • We will check your device(s) for viruses, malware, and other programs that may be slowing you down or creating security issues. We will also check for any junk files, perform necessary updates, and make sure your device is in good condition to help it last you better and longer!

  • Miscellaneous support for software related issues that are not resolvable at the front counter. Examples: Microsoft Office crashing, Google Chrome or Edge crashes

  • Transferring data from an older device to a new one, including as many apps as possible(no guarantees depending on age of devices) and any documents and photos.

  • Setting up a backup drive of your device, whether a full backup or specific files. Includes setting up a Time Machine for Mac or MacBook devices.

    *Price does not include price of backup drive, if you do not provide one

  • We will attempt to recover data* off a device you have lost the password to or was damaged or accidentally erased. Can focus on specific types of files or try to recover everything.

    *Cannot guarantee recovery of everything, depending on the damage or encryption of the device.

  • If you wish to upgrade your hardware, whether that is your hard drive, your RAM, or any custom hardware, we will do the upgrade and install for you! If you provide the parts, then just the $75 will apply*

    *If the upgrade requires advanced work, pricing my vary for extended labor costs.

  • We can replace the display* on your laptop if it is cracked or failing.

    *Older devices may be harder to locate parts, no guarantees, and prices may be steeper depending on difficulty for procuring part

  • If your device is overheating, we can clean dust and debris to make sure that airflow is good and the cooling system is functioning properly

  • If your operating system has crashed or won’t work, we can reinstall it. No guarantees of data being saved or retreivable

  • This is the general labor fee for issues that do not apply to specific issues listed.

  • We will visit you at your home to help you troubleshoot issues with Wi-fi or other location specific issues, or if you are unable to make it out to us. Please call to schedule.

    $75 minimum per visit
    +$25/hr beyond first hour on site
    +$10/mile beyond Waterloo/Cedar Falls/Evansdale city limits.
    +$50 to install and setup new printer or computer

  • Willing to work on devices that are mailed in. Pricing varies, will include prices from above + $25 for mail-in service and you cover shipping fees. Please contact to arrange this.

    *The Tech Bench is not liable for any damages to device that occurs while it is shipping to us. We will ensure the device is secured for shipping back

  • If you have old hard drives or devices you wish to discard of, but want to ensure your data is not on it, we will destroy the data is erased or destroyed then we will dispose of the drive or device for you

  • If you are wanting to build a custom PC for gaming or other reasons, we will work with you to get it assembled and ensure it is working. Pricing starts at $150 if you provide all of the parts and just wish for us to assemble.

    If you need help finding the parts, for an extra fee of $60/hr + parts cost, we will sit down with you and help you determine what you need and help you procure the parts.
